Customer Terms and Conditions

Taskply · contact@taskply.com · Version 2026-10-21-draft-2

Draft for review — Taskply · contact@taskply.com. Registered legal entity, business address, privacy retention schedule and local legal review are still required before commercial publication.

Operator, contact and scope

Taskply operates a marketplace connecting customers with independent service providers (earners). Contact contact@taskply.com for support, complaints, privacy requests or appeals. The registered legal entity, business registration number and service address must be added before commercial launch. These draft terms are prepared for the current Sri Lankan marketplace and payments shown in Sri Lankan rupees; the operator must confirm its jurisdiction and obtain local legal review before publication.

Eligibility and truthful accounts

You must be at least 18, be able to enter the relevant service agreement and provide accurate information. Keep your phone number current and use only an account you are authorised to control. Do not impersonate another person, submit forged records, share login codes or transfer a verified account. Tell support promptly if your account, phone or documents may have been compromised.

Account security and acceptable conduct

Use secure devices and keep one-time codes and credentials private. Taskply staff will not ask for a login code in task messages. Do not upload malware, exploit the app, scrape private data, bypass access controls, create fraudulent tasks or reviews, harass people, discriminate unlawfully or post illegal or unsafe work. Only share another person’s information when you have authority to do so. Never post identity documents, bank details or private addresses in public task descriptions.

Bookings, scope and changes

A task description, accepted offer and agreed messages define the work, location, timing and price. An offer alone is not a confirmed booking: the app must show assignment after the customer accepts the offer. Current bookings use cash paid directly to the earner. Confirm important changes in the task conversation before work starts; do not demand undisclosed charges. Do not accept work you cannot lawfully or safely complete. Taskply is not an emergency service.

Customer responsibilities

Give an accurate task description, a lawful and reasonably safe work location, suitable access and any known hazards, access limitations or required qualifications. Make clear who may approve changes. Do not ask for work outside the agreed scope without agreement, falsely report completion, threaten negative reviews to obtain free work or obstruct a genuine refund inquiry.

Checking work and release

Check the agreed work before confirming completion. Pay the agreed job price directly to the earner in cash. Completion confirmation records the work status and does not prove receipt of cash. Raise concerns through the dispute process rather than confirming work you believe incomplete. Do not unreasonably withhold confirmation after satisfactory performance. A completed status does not extinguish applicable rights concerning defects or other later-discovered problems. Report those issues to support even if the in-app completion process is finished.

Choosing an earner

Review offers, experience and the documents or insurance relevant to the work. The public verified badge does not reveal private documents and is not a recommendation or warranty. Decide whether a quotation includes materials, travel and other costs before accepting. Arrange safe access and appropriate supervision for children or vulnerable people where relevant.

Payments, fees and settlement

Current bookings use cash: the customer pays the accepted job price directly to the earner. After the customer confirms completion, the earner owes TaskPly a 5% commission on that accepted price, rounded to the nearest whole Sri Lankan rupee (half a rupee rounds up). For a Rs. 10,000 job, the commission is Rs. 500. TaskPly does not collect or hold the customer’s cash payment. Staff record commission as waiting or received after verifying an external receipt; marking received does not move money. Cancelled cash bookings do not accrue this commission. Historical online payments retain their recorded amounts and provider settlement process.

Cancellation and refund requests

An unassigned task may be cancelled through the app. For an assigned or paid task, contact the other participant and support, explain the circumstances and keep evidence in the task conversation. Refund eligibility depends on what was agreed, work actually performed, provider processing and applicable consumer rights. No universal automatic refund or cancellation charge is promised. Any proposed charge must be disclosed, supported and lawful; statutory rights take priority.

Disputes, evidence and review

Report problems promptly using the task’s dispute function or contact@taskply.com. For cash jobs, a dispute pauses completion; TaskPly does not hold cash or issue a provider refund. Any return of cash must be arranged between the participants with support assistance. Describe the issue accurately and provide relevant messages, photographs, receipts and completion evidence without exposing unrelated personal data. An open in-app dispute pauses cash-job completion or historical online payment release. Staff may request information from both sides, propose a return visit, resume a task or arrange cancellation; for historical online payments, a provider refund may be required. Decisions and reasons are recorded. Ask for reconsideration through support if information was missed. The support process does not remove access to courts, regulators or other mandatory remedies, and no mandatory private arbitration is imposed by these draft terms.

Hold, suspension, blocking and appeal

Taskply may restrict an account where reasonably necessary for credible complaints, safety, fraud, compromised access, payment problems, false documents or other serious breaches. On hold pauses new earning work and payouts while leaving existing conversations available. Suspension temporarily disables sign-in and payouts; blocking disables access indefinitely until an authorised review restores it. Restrictions can follow completed work and are separate from the decision about a particular payment. Staff record a reason and audit event; notice and an opportunity to respond should be provided where safe and legally permitted. Contact contact@taskply.com to appeal, request records relevant to your case or discuss an outstanding payment. These powers must be exercised proportionately and not to suppress a legitimate complaint.

Privacy and document handling

Taskply uses account details, booking records and verification material to operate the service, verify earners, resolve complaints, secure accounts and meet applicable obligations. Verification includes full name, birth date, address, experience, qualifications, government ID image, selfie, address proof and trade certificate. Identity document images are private, encrypted at rest and accessible through authenticated staff review; they are not displayed on public profiles. A selfie is manually reviewed; this implementation does not perform automated face recognition or biometric matching. Authorised providers may process information needed for hosting, SMS and payments. The operator must publish its actual processor list, hosting locations and retention schedule before collecting live identity documents. Do not promise a fixed deletion deadline until the operational policy exists. Contact support to request access, correction or deletion, or to withdraw optional consent; some records may need to be retained for a valid legal or dispute purpose. Verification consent is separate from these terms and does not authorise unrelated marketing.

Verification badge and limits

A verified tick means staff reviewed the submitted identity and trade documents under the platform’s process. It does not guarantee that a document is genuine, that a licence remains current, that work will be satisfactory, that a person has passed criminal or regulatory checks, or that the person is insured. Customers should check the licence, qualification and insurance appropriate to the particular job. Staff may request renewed documents, revoke verification or hide the badge while an account is restricted.

Responsibility and mandatory rights

Customers and earners remain responsible for their own conduct, agreed obligations and lawful use of the service. The legal status of work is determined by applicable law and the facts; calling an earner independent does not override employment or other mandatory protections. Nothing here excludes rights or liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including applicable consumer protections, fraud or other non-excludable obligations. Taskply does not promise uninterrupted service or guaranteed earnings. There is no blanket waiver of injury, loss, privacy rights or legal remedies in these draft terms.

Closing accounts, records and changes

Contact contact@taskply.com to request account closure. Resolve ongoing jobs and outstanding payments where possible; closure does not automatically erase a valid complaint or legal obligation. Access restrictions must not be used to prevent someone raising a complaint. The acceptance record stores the authenticated account, applicable terms version, acceptance time and a hash of the displayed terms. Material changes should be announced and require fresh acceptance before new transactions. Earlier accepted versions must be preserved for records. No change should retroactively remove accrued mandatory rights.
